JAPAN DAY

Renert School Welcomes Osaka Toin High School, Friday, March 10, 2017

The Renert School was thrilled to host 110 Grade 9 students and 14 staff members from Toin High School, which is located in Osaka, Japan. This is our second annual “Japan Day”, and according to our students, it is the funnest day of the year (SERIOUS Fun, of course). The Japanese students had a tour of the school, guided by our own Grade 9 students. They were warmly greeted by a welcoming committee of high school students who treated the visitors with Canadian flag pins, Maple Leaf cookies and pancakes with maple syrup. Following the reception, the Japanese students joined in with many of our regular classes and Choice Friday activities. In the afternoon, our staff and students were entertained with an amazing Japanese Cultural Fair provided by our guests. An assembly concluded the day, where Osaka Toin school shared a slide show presentation and both schools exchanged gifts and appreciations for the day. Another day to remember at Renert School.
