Grade 2 students visited the WestJet hangars for a unique experience last week. A special thank you is extended to Trevor (Berlin’s dad) and Ms. Judith for arranging this opportunity to view WestJet planes at the facility near YYC. Students discovered that the mechanical parts of an airplane are extremely complex and that an entire class could be stacked to fit inside a jet engine.
Sitting in the pilot’s seat in the flight deck was impressive and students remarked that “there are a lot of buttons” and that “it must be hard for a pilot to know what buttons to push”. Flying with WestJet will now take on a much deeper meaning with these lucky boys and girls! See photos for our aspiring pilots and aviation engineers of tomorrow.
