Personalized
Learning
At Renert School, students progress at their own pace, with the Alberta curriculum serving as the minimal standard of achievement. We group students by their skill level in a given subject rather than by their age. And our teachers support each student at his or her own level. We call it “Personalized Learning.”
Compare this approach with traditional schooling, wherein all students are made to progress through the curriculum at the same pace. In traditional schools, students who can progress faster are held back and are bored, while students who need more time tend to get frustrated and fall behind.
Personalized learning supports and challenges students at the level that is right for them.
